resumo: Even though most studies of Anglicisms in Spanish have traditionally concentrated on the influence of English on the Spanish lexicon, this influence is also noticeable at a phraseological level, that is to say, on the “phrasicon” of the Spanish language. Indeed, along with individual lexemes, many English idioms, phrases and even proverbs enter Spanish every day. This paper reports on the presence of a few English proverbs in contemporary Spanish as found in the CREA (Corpus del español actual/Corpus of Contemporary Spanish).
